New Phase

It’s been an interesting time in Denver so far. Since our move back from Mexico in January 2025, we’ve walked the Denver streets, explored every transit option and became familiar again with my old stomping grounds.

There is a lot of culture here to explore, although bus lines can be limiting, and suffocating in several ways.

There is a reason the transit here is rated one of the top 10 worst in the country by City Nerd. I understand now why people say RTD means “Reason to Drive” but I stand strong in my commitment to being car-free. I would rather spend my energy elsewhere than maintaining a car.

I’ve been hoping to find an art studio within walking distance where I can practice my art away from my apartment. It would be nice to share art vibes with a group of people who are also trying to move in the same direction.

No luck yet, so the apartment will have to do.

Lately, I’ve been challenging myself to black out poetry. It requires so few materials and is easy to do while house sitting for other people, loving up on their dogs. The book I took this from was about slavery, so some of the pages were quite dark, but I found that something beautiful came out of each one.

Stay tuned for a gallery announcement when they go on display ~ until then, love and white light.
